LIGHTFOILS is my current band, and at this point, it accounts for over a third of my over three decades playing music. While some of the faces have changed over the years, Neil Yodnane (guitar) and John Rungger (drums) have been there since the beginning—hell, I’ve been playing with John since the mid-’90s. These days we’re leaner and meaner: I’ve stepped into the role of vocalist in addition to bass, and we’ve brought in our longtime friend and collaborator Balthazar de Ley to help reinforce the guitar wall of noise.
I wouldn’t call us prolific in terms of releases, but we’ve carved out a reputation for our loud, kinetic live shows and our unofficial status as elder statesmen of the scene. Known and tolerated in equal measure—I’ll take it.
